I am my own man

Ok, well I saw the movie and I was fairly disappointed. I already rambled a lot about it on my tumblr (www.lifenthoughts.tumblr.com). But I'm just gonna summarize it here. What I hated was the weak and disgusting script. It felt like a bunch of people wrote it who actually just rushed through the whole of season one. And yes, there was definitely plot holes. The acting was suck-ish, on the part of Ringer, Peltz, Mandiv, and Curtis playing Aang, Katara, Zhao, and Ozai respectively. The story was too rushed, and did not give time for the story itself to evolve properly, and did not give enough time for character development. However, the good points were the wonderful sets and costumes and props. They were masterfully done and created with taste and influences from the series. Kudos too, to Toub, Patel, and Rathbone's portrayal of Iroh, Zuko, and Sokka. They were stand out actors, although they lost a lot of the characteristics we know and love (thanks to the horrid script). It was wonderful the M. Night made the Firebenders need a source, cos that gives them a more balanced ability as compared to the other benders. Also, i did not care for the pronounciation of the names and terms, cos i believe M. Night wanted to do a different take on the series, while keeping most parts true to the original. The casting too, I applaud the brave casting of casting various races and cultures and incorporating them into the movie (although, for the people disappointed by the Indian Fire Nation, I think they were cast that way due to Dev Patel being cast as Zuko). The CGI was fantastic as it showed how the elements would and should react in reality. And I believe the moves that were made before the benders managed to control the elements was a device to actually give a real take on the way things should be in reality, cos I think that before moving the elements, we need to sort of "call" it first, hence doing the unnecessary moves before hand. So yeah, I do hope they do better for the second film with a much better script and story line.
